Rapid Arc Radiation Therapy is coming to BRCC.

 A new generation of radiation therapy technique is now available to us to fight cancers, called the Rapid Arc. We are proud to annnounce that we are in the process of implementing this latest in Radiation Therapy at BRCC. Rapid Arc technique will make radiation treatments more precise, efficient, and shorten the treatment time to less than 5 minutes. When implemented in the next 2 months, BRCC will be the only cancer center to have this Rapid Arc technique available in Northwest Florida within the 200 miles of the Bay County, FL.

  • Mammosite Balloon Radiation Treatment for breast cancer patients is now available at Bay Regional Cancer Center.

 

 

CLINICAL TRIALS AVAILABLE AT BRCC.

BRCC is part of a national exclusive group of centers where cancer patients are approved to enroll on Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) protocols. To see a current list of the available protocols for patient enrollment please click on the side bar of 'Available Clinical Trials'. Our collaboration through the RTOG brings us in communication with nationally recognized experts at major academic cancer centers. This  helps Dr. Murshed to remain abreast of the most upto-date treatments for his patients. Dr. Murshed is an active participant in national RTOG clincial trials which enables his patients to receive the most upto-date and innovative treatment possible in a community setting in Panama City, FL.

  • Apria - resources - News:  Read the News Herald article about the merging of Dr. Murshed's practice and the Panama City Urology Center.

 

  • Dr. Murshed's practice recently has merged with the Panama City Urology Center. The new practice is now called Bay Regional Cancer Center (BRCC). The BRCC is now sharing space and equipement with the Bay Medical Center (BMC). This sharing of space within the Bay Medical Center is a huge win for the hospital and BRCC physicians and also for the patients. The two groups now cooperating in a single center and both entities have a great interest in making the best cancer center possible for the Bay County.  5/08

 

  •  Dr. Murshed will has been selected as a panel member for a Colorectal Cancer Seminar at Bay Medical Center to be held on March 27th 5:00 pm.

 

  • Dr. Murshed will be speaking to the 'Panama City Fan Club' on March 20th at 6:00 pm at the Olive Garden Restaurant regarding Breast Cancer Treatments.

  • Dr. Murshed has recently been elected as a member of the Bay County Medical Society Executive Board (BMS) as a Member at large. As an executive board member he will help the Board to carry on its many programs through out the year 2008. 01/08

  • Dr. Murshed has recently volunteered and has been elected as a member of the American Cancer Society (ACS) Bay County local unit. He has been elected as the Medical Advisor of the Board. As a Medical Advisor he will report items of interest or communications received regarding medical aspects of cancer at each Unit Operating Board meeting; act in all medical matters pertaining to the unit Operating Board, Executive Committee actions, committee recomendations, and National or Florida Division medical communications; and be available to consult with committees as to their activities and their recommendations to the Unit Operating Board among other duties. 12/07
